In this book we have Jenny who is Adam’s little sister. She has always had a crush on Jake her brothers partner on the force since she was a teenager. Now she is 22 years old and that feeling has never changed only increased over the years. She would always want Jake. The problem is getting Jake to see her as more than his best friends little sister and see her as the adult woman she is.

Jake has always wanted Jenny but due to his loyalty to Adam he never followed through on his intense feelings for Jenny. But one night when she is attacked at a night club all thoughts of loyalty go right out the window. He knows Jenny is for him and hopes he can find a way to make that happen.

But the first night when he takes her home after the attack and things get hot and sweaty he hits a road block of sorts. He leaves Jenny feeling confused and heartbroken.

Can these two ever find their way to each other? Will big brother Adam become a block?

WILD SUMMER LOVE

OMG! I have been waiting for this book since I read Valentine's Surprise. It didn't follow the same line as Adam and Amanda but I LOVED IT!!!! I was on the edge of seat during the last 20% of the book. I was so into the story I didn't realize my IPOD was going dead until it shut down. I really like the reuniting of Jake's family. I will be patiently waiting for the next book. If you have read anything else from Melanie you know she is definitely worth the purchase price. She will go on the list of authors that I read that I buy their books without even reading the synopsis. Everyone needs to read this book. AMAZING! I won't say anything else because I am afraid of being a spoiler....have you one clicked yet? What are you waiting for.

Talk about WOW!! completely not what i had expected what so ever!! This book was BETTER then what i expected!! Sex, love, a little dark at times but a good dark/light mix. story line was GREAT and full of suspense!! Can't wait for book 3!! :)

About the Author
Lisa-ann Gershwin is director of the Australian Marine Stinger Advisory Services. She was awarded a Fulbright in 1998 for her studies on jellyfish blooms and evolution, and she has discovered over 150 new species—including at least sixteen types of jellyfish that are highly dangerous, as well as a new species of dolphin—and has written for numerous scientific and popular publications.

accessible science -chilling conclusions

This book is written with the non-expert reader in mind.There is tons of hardcore scientific data, spiced up with anecdotes and and enlivened by the writer's chatty, almost breezy, style. I found my attitudes to human exploitation of the sea irrevocably changed.
The conclusion is chilling and galvanising.

An extremely relevant perspective on our adverse impact upon our oceans and its consequences

I found "STUNG!" to be fascinating, informative and, frankly, very sobering (the latter is no reflection on my review; it's the reality of our environment and ecosystems, as I concluded from Dr. Greshwin's book). Before reading this book, I did not fully appreciate the magnitude of the adverse impact that humankind has had, and, unfortunately, continues to have, on our precious oceans and its diverse marine life. I also did not appreciate that jellyfish, in their ever-growing numbers, results in a significant imbalance of the ecosystem; and, that one can view the presence of overabundant jellyfish blooms as an equivalent litmus test on the state of our oceans and, in fact, the future of life on our planet. Over the years, I have read books on this general topic by well-known and distinguished researchers, such as Stanford's Dr. Paul R. Ehrlich's "The Population Bomb," and Caltech's Professor David L. Goodstein's "Out of Gas: The End of the Age of Oil." Dr. Gershwin's book complements these works and provides a provocative and scholarly perspective on this important topic, and in fact, emerges as a very intuitive one, in terms of how we are destroying our wonderful planet. In particular, the focus is on our oceans in general, and, more specifically, on jellyfish and their blooms. Gershwin also considers the complex interrelationships of our terrestrial shortcomings (overconsumption, pollution, etc.) with those in our oceans (acidity, oxygen levels, overfishing, non-biodegradable plastics, etc.), which are manifested by changes in global temperature, atmospheric composition, etc. In essence, we are participants in an on-going laboratory experiment gone awry, owing to our reluctance to accept responsibility for our actions on the environment and ecosystems and to act accordingly. Over the course of our presence on Earth, humankind has been globally burying its collective head in the sands of our beaches instead of looking at our seas to realize the detrimental effects that we are imposing on all life forms, including ourselves. Sadly, our inactions have, over time, as Gershwin concludes, appear now to be irreversible and, presumably, past the tipping point, vis-a-vis the health and sustainability of our planet. Our only hope is, in the words of Gershwin, "to adapt." Dr. Gershwin's book is very readable, understandable and factual. It is peppered with myriad references (including many from scholarly, archival journals), along with a variety of interesting and informative quotes from experts on the field, sidebars (including simple kitchen experiments and refresher notes on relevant chemistry), tables, and a glossary. The level of discussion is ideally suited for the general public, students at all levels, the layperson as well as experts in the field. This comprehensive and extremely relevant treatment is a must-have for all to read, regardless of where one may reside on the spectrum of anthropic philosophy.

Doom, statistics, science. Boring right? WRONG!

Gershwin manages to take some of the worst of humanities news and the science behind it and package it in such a way that it is not just an informative and educational read, but an entertaining one. Clearly written as a warning, this book gives the human influenced global climate change a whole new perspective. That from the view of the lowly and apparently robust Jelly. A beautiful ethereal creature who has been generous enough to warn us of our impending doom.

A must read for everyone and a great book for high school bio students. This book is excellent at showing the interlinked relationship between all of natures animals, including humans. With more easily digested and actually entertaining reads of such matter hopefully human understanding will give our future generations an actual future.

A competetive tax plan

Though the plan does present a comprehensive overview of his competetive tax plan, and it is written refreshingly different from the condescending "Fair Tax" book, this book is an academic tome to read. Slogging through the pages is akin to reading the IRS tax code.

Tax Policy Made Interesting

Michael Graetz makes tax policy almost enjoyable. Graetz never forgets that the tax system's primary purpose is to raise the money needed to finance the government services that the nation wants in the least harmful way. Or, as the French economist Colbert put it, "The art of taxation consists in so plucking the goose as to obtain the largest possible amount of feathers with the smallest possible amount of hissing." Graetz provides a realistic assessment of our current tax structure and deftly identifies the failings of faddish proposals, such as the "fair tax" and the "flat tax." His proposal to reduce the number of people required to pay income tax and to add a value-added tax to our nation's fiscal arsenal deserves serious consideration by conservatives and liberals alike.

Competitive Tax plan makes sense

This book is a pleasure to get through and does an excellent job assessing the current state of tax reform. His competitive tax plan makes quite a bit of sense too. Shifting a good portion of federal revenue to a VAT takes over 150 million individuals off the IRS rolls and simplifies the entire system. I worry that the implementation process would be too complicated to reap the benefits of the simpler system, and that this plan lacks the proper advocates in Congress, but that does not mean you shouldn't read this book and understand his plan. The VAT is a tried and true system throughout the EU, and could help the US in numerous ways.

About the Author
Poet, essayist, and historian Aurora Levins Morales was raised a red-diaper baby in the hills of Puerto Rico by her Jewish and Puerto Rican parents. She is the author of Getting Home Alive, a multi-genre work co-written with her mother, Rosario Morales, and Remedios, a prose-poetry retelling of the history of the Atlantic world, through the lives of Puerto Rican women. Her essays have appeared in Ms., Women's Review of Books, and numerous anthologies. She holds a doctorate in Women's Studies and History and lectures nationally. She lives in San Francisco and Minneapolis.

This is a great read. The essays are very easy to pick up and read individually or to sit and read a larger section. I read this book mostly out of order, grabbing what caught my attention. This inspired a lot of critical thinking and writing as well as poetry from me.

Great choice

I'm in my mid-30s when I bought this. About 12 years ago I had taken 2 years of lessons with a teacher before moving on. This is not the same method I was using with my teacher. I cannot remember which one I was using at that time but this one is better in my opinion. The extra theory in this books is very good, and even with a teacher I did not pick up on this stuff as well the last time around. The very beginning of the book does not even use musical notation and has some very good exercises for helping a beginner develop an awareness of where the notes are on the keyboard.

I can't really judge the difficulty, as almost immediately (within a day or two) most of what I knew came back and I could play most of this book. But the progression looks good. The musical selection seems typical, some will like it some will not.

A good beginner book for adults

These newer adult piano books for adults are similar. I liked the music in this book over the Alfred series, but there is still overlap. Choose one series and just keep playing! It will take time, maybe several years, until a beginner has the skill and knowledge to play those beautiful and complex pieces that draw us to to the piano. Adults tend to give up early feeling that it takes too much time and commitment or progress doesn't come fast enough. A competent and experienced teacher will be an asset in learning piano. A teacher watching for proper form is very important to avoid injury from bad habits. Books don't teach form or correct you for getting lazy.

The music theory is light in this book and assumes that the reader has no prior musical knowledge. I recommend supplementing with a music theory book.

This is a really good beginner piano book for adults

This is a really good beginner piano book for adults. I'm taking piano lessons at a community college and this is the required text. When I ordered it from Amazon, I didn't realize it was just the book and that the CDs weren't part of the purchase. The text at the college bookstore included the CDs but it was about twice the price. My piano instructor said I didn't really need the CDs so I was glad to save the money. I'm really enjoying my piano lessons and the book has some interesting pieces even for beginners.
