A definite winner!

I would like to congratulate Professor Cortez for a wonderful optimization book that uses R. The small book does not have much mathematical equations for the various optimization methods. My guess is that the author has left this task to many other optimization books on the market. Instead, he gives you valuable comments about the pros and cons of various optimization methods. What the book seems to focus on is providing the readers with R source code for various optimization algorithms. The readers gets solid R code that works! Each chapter includes a summary of the commands introduced in that chapter. This is a nice touch added to the book. I highly recommend that you get the electronic code from online sources and customize the code to solve problems that you are interested in. This approach will maximize the value of the book for you AND gives you an optimization toolbox in R. I highly recommend this book for students, researchers, and hobbyists who are interested in implemented optimization code in R. This book is a winner!
